A child, like a seed, is nurtured with love and care. His foundation depends upon his surroundings and the people accompanying him during his childhood. In the given case a person is brought up by his parents. Therefore, he must have spent most of his time with his parents learning their value system.
As a child, his knowledge and learning are limited to his parents and school or maybe the society he lives in. Since he has spent most of his time of life among these value systems, he finds these habits right and maybe the best.
However, in the given scenario he may have been a single child and this would have been the reason that he looks for more personal space. Leading to a habit of not sharing. If a person is a single child then he gets all attention, love, care and possession of his parents. They have no one to share with and so they may lack this moral. Only exposure to peers would be his friends and their influence in building a value system is minimal.
If he has siblings then he must have encountered many situations where he needs to share. Be it parents’ love, books, food or as simple as a toy. This would have imbibed the importance of learning and sharing.
This value of sharing comes by default when a person lives with a sibling or a joint family. But even parents of a single child must put some extra effort to teach their child the importance of sharing. Sharing is something that gives us a sense of fulfillment. Sharing teaches us to survive in this ecosystem with limited resources. And so sharing gives joy.
